Overview

 

The Corporate bilingual Trainer will conduct and supervise classroom based training, and potentially computer based training, to all levels of Cajun employees (field/craft employees through supervisors/managers). Will promote the values of Cajun’s culture, emphasizing safety and quality work to achieve productivity. The role of the Corporate Trainer will be to motivate employees through learning, evaluation, audits and feedback and must demonstrate a desire and motivation to promote safety and quality in all aspects of training. Must have a strong background in heavy industrial construction and safety, with preferably 10-15 years of work experience in related fields, and at least 5 years of experience in training/teaching supported by an educational background as evidenced through certifications and/or a degree (Bachelor degree strongly preferred, commensurate experience considered). This individual must also possess substantial knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements in related fields. Must possess, maintain, and/or acquire certifications for necessary training as needed (such as NCCER Master Trainer, OSHA 500, CPR/FA Instructor, etc.)

 

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with a diversity of personnel to achieve effective results
  • Manage a classroom effectively
  • Create an atmosphere conducive to adult learning
  • Must be well versed in curriculum that incorporate hands-on training, audio, presentation/lectures, and supportive media
  • Deliver assessments, evaluations, and qualifications/certifications to course participants
  • Correspond and work together with Corporate Training Coordinator to determine training needs, develop training programs, and conduct audits of courses, documentation, and instructors
  • Deliver effective feedback
  • Travel for training as required

 

 

Qualifications

 

Physical

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
  • Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms
  • Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel
  • Standing/walking for extended periods during facilitation may be required
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Will need to perform sedentary work

Mental

  • Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/ supervision
  • Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
  • Ability to use math/complete calculations
  • Must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details
  • Ability to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office devices
  • Must have critical thinking skills
