JOB PURPOSE

  • Provide credible cost forecasting for a portfolio of capital projects. Generate RFQs, accruals,forecast updates, change management, value of work done, cashflows, and latest estimates.
  • Provide funding /budget and cashflow charts for Investment Proposals.
  • Drive credible cost forecasts across the site project portfolio
  • ON SITE POSITION in Norco 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for capital project cost management in alignment with PG-06, including cost engineering and change management for the site project portfolio.
  • Responsible for project check and/or control estimates when cost forecast thresholds and/or project C&P activities deem necessary.
  • Responsible for alignment of cost estimates and forecasts with project execution and contracting strategies.
  • Responsible for monthly cost reports including budgets, project change management, commitments, value of work done, accruals, cashflow forecasts and latest estimates.
  • Responsible for monthly portfolio cost analysis and reporting for the Site Investment Committee.
  • Responsible for alignment of cost management process with, and in support of, project C&P RtP processes (e.g., bid analysis, auditing of vendor invoicing, etc.).
  • Responsible for application of systems and tools utilized for project cost management (e.g. GSAP, CMT, Track, EcoSys, etc.).
  • Responsible for applying standardized, robust work processes for effective cost engineering to effectively control individual projects and overall portfolio performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistency of project control activities with GSAP as well as other company based financial and accounting systems.
  • Responsible for integration of projects into turnarounds, with respect to cost management.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate project cost controls necessary to manage the site's project engineering business plan, which includes Capex, Revex, and Demolition (subset of Revex)
  • Develop Contingency Drawdown plans
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives

 

KEY CHALLENGES

  • Managing multiple stakeholders throughout different levels of the organization.
  • Breaking down silos between Cost and Scheduling.
  • Delivering a consistent, credible forecast that will help the organization with key business decisions.
  • Managing costs for multiple projects at various phases/stage gates.
