Project Engineer
Job Overview:
Cajun Engineering Solutions currently has an opening for an experienced Project Engineer. The Project Engineer is responsible to help facilitate project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management and communication through effective day-to-day administration and coordination of projects. They will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project team members, including clients, in support of the success of a project.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Responsible for technical leadership of a project as well as for supporting the Project Manager in managing project performance of the engineering team.
- A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
- Coordinates design review package submittals for design milestone reviews.
- Prepares and participates in site visits, model reviews, and design reviews.
- Acts as a liaison between the client, team members, and suppliers when applicable.
- Ensures deliverables are produced with quality, within budget, and on schedule.
- Reviews work produced to ensure that procedures are followed, and that quality is acceptable.
- Monitors productivity of technical personnel.
- Assists the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, and administrative functions of the project or study. Participates in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.
- Ensures client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines. Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.
- Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and documentation of activities for the client, staff, and project management.
- Coordinating with Client on technical design issues.
- Coordinating with Project Management Team (PM, Construction Manager, Procurement Manager, Quality Manager, and Project Controls Lead) on execution issues
- Ensuring timely completion of muli-Discipline deliverables including: Line List, Equipment List, Area Classification Drawings, Post-IFD P&ID’s and General Arrangement Drawings
- Leading Inter-Discipline coordination by resolving design issues among/between disciplines.
- Reviewing all design deliverables with particular focus on inter-discipline consistency and adequacy of discipline reviews and approving transmittals prior to issue.
- Ensuring overall quality control of engineering work.

Ideal Background
- Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.
- Registration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is preferred.
- Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
