Overview
The Professional Development Specialist will play an integral role in the introduction of new employees to the organization as well as their career development. Will be responsible for overall new hire employee experience of new professionals to Cajun and the development programs for Cajun’s professional level employees.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resource field
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively conduct training
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strategic thinker
- Must be a team player
- Self-motivated
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Tech savvy with ability to quickly learn custom software programs
Responsibilities

Primary:
- Create an exceptional employee experience for new professional level employees
- Oversee New Employee Onboarding consisting of:
- Online Onboarding/New Hire Paperwork
- Office Access and Set Up (IT and physical office needs)
- Office New Hire Orientation & facility tour
- Coordinate Cajun Qualified Driver Training (if applicable)
- Coordinate Applicable Site Specific training & cultural training
- Coordinate Cajun’s Accelerated Onboarding for Managers (if applicable)
- Manage Cajun programs including (but not limited to):
- Mentoring Program
- Cajun YP (Young Professionals) Program
- Learning Management System (LMS) Maintenance
- Assist with ongoing development and coordination of Cajun Career Growth Focus Professional Training
- Support Employee Growth Program
- Support Intern Program
Secondary:
- Support HR Generalist functions including:
- Employee Benefits
- Employee Relations
- HRIS
- Performance Management
Qualifications
Physical
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
- Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms
- Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Will need to be able to perform sedentary work
Mental
- Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/ supervision
- Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
- Ability to use math/complete calculations
- Must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details
- Ability to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office devices
