Overview

The Talent Acquisition Recruiter will develop full-cycle recruiting strategies in support of organizational objectives.  Perform day-to-day recruiting activities associated with sourcing, coordinating, screening, qualifying, interviewing, handling offers, and hiring candidates for open positions.  Assist with all recruiting-related processes that will take new hires up to their first day and ensure a smooth transition into HR related onboarding. Will report to the Manager of Talent Acquisition within Human Resources.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with internal and external relationships tied to Cajun Industries' recruiting efforts
  • Work with Manager of Talent Acquisition in associated support activities such as organizing resumes, making calls, setting up interviews, performing associated data entry and recordkeeping work, pre-qualification activities, setting up testing and screenings, tracking candidate data in ATS platforms, referrals, etc.
  • Work with hiring managers to stay abreast of organizational hiring needs
  • Have knowledge and understanding of job descriptions for all Cajun professional roles and work with managers to maintain and update these as necessary
  • Evaluate possible recruiting sources toward finding and attracting suitable, qualified candidates that fit the Cajun Industries culture
  • Actively source and recruit candidates through the appropriate methods – advertising, recruiters, job sites, career fairs, professional networks, social media, referrals, etc
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with professional, industry, and social networks to source qualified candidates
  • Review and analyze resumes, applications, and qualifications to determine suitability
  • Actively pre-screen candidates
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews cooperatively with the hiring managers, and participate as necessary and/or where a recruiter can add value
  • Inform all candidates about Cajun Industries and the open position by selling Cajun features, advantages, and benefits to candidates throughout the process as may be appropriate
  • Brief and debrief candidates before and after interviews
  • Conduct and verify references
  • Serve as the primary point person in the communications with candidates
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to the Manager of Talent Acquisition
  • Manage and update the applicant tracking system
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on various recruiting metrics to the Manager of Talent Acquisition
  • Maintain awareness of local market trends and competitor activity
  • Ensure recruiting practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or recruiting recruiting-related field is preferred; experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • Two to five years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in construction or related field is preferable
  • Professional certification in HR is a plus
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to source, attract, screen, and interview candidates with technical backgrounds
  • Computer literacy

Physical

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds
