Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position will support the planning, design,
and execution of mechanical engineering projects for industrial facilities. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing technically sound
solutions for both new installations and modifications to existing facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers,
designers, clients, vendors, and construction personnel throughout all phases of project execution, from front-end engineering through detailed design,
procurement, and construction.

 

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical engineering designs, calculations, specifications, data sheets, equipment lists, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Specify and evaluate fixed and rotating equipment, including pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, packaged equipment, ect.
• Review process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment layouts, vendor drawings, and other multidisciplinary design documents.
• Prepare mechanical equipment specifications and procurement packages in accordance with project and client requirements.
• Perform technical evaluations of vendor proposals and provide recommendations for equipment selection.
• Review vendor drawings, calculations, and documentation for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
• Coordinate mechanical design requirements with process, piping, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and construction disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, client specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory requirements.
• Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, constructability, and consistency.
• Communicate directly with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders regarding technical requirements and project status.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, hazard reviews, and project coordination meetings.
• Maintain organized engineering documentation and support company quality-control procedures.
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Experience supporting industrial, refining, petrochemical, chemical, energy, or manufacturing facilities is strongly preferred. 5 years or more
• Working knowledge of fixed equipment, rotating equipment, packaged mechanical systems, and related engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
• Experience preparing equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor-document reviews.
• Ability to interpret process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment layouts, piping drawings, and vendor documentation.
• Experience with brownfield projects, field investigations, and modifications to operating facilities is preferred.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering, design, procurement, construction, and client teams.
• Ability to independently manage assigned engineering tasks and identify potential technical or project-execution risks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and commonly used mechanical engineering software.
• Professional Engineer license or progress toward professional licensure is preferred.
• Must be able to visit industrial project sites and perform field walkdowns as required.
