    Overview

     

    Piping Design Lead / Level 5 Designer

     

    Assigns and schedules work and is responsible for the progress and quality of deliverables of a team of Piping designers generally assigned to a single project or work in a specialized field

     

    Performs initial project planning in regards to project scope, design basis, effort hour budget, staffing requirements, deliverables, and execution procedure

    Knowledgeable of company, department and project procedures and ensures all are followed throughout a project

    Develops and/or participates in plot plan and equipment arrangement activities

    Establishes design areas and assigns responsibilities to Piping team personnel

    Participates in all design reviews

    Monitors the progress for all Piping design activities in regards to budget, schedule, staffing and reports results to project and department management

    Ensures all deliverables are issued on schedule using the deliverable verification process

    Ensures all Piping design team members are working according to Cajun safety guidelines and that all have successfully completed project specific safety training

    Participates in performance evaluations of Piping design team members

      

    Qualifications

     

    8 to 10 years of drafting experience with high school diploma or associates degree, or 6 to 8 years of drafting experience with a Bachelor’s degree

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Advanced MS Office skills \(Word, Excel, PowerPoint\)

    3D modeling skills \(AutoCad Plant 3D, Navisworks, etc\)

    Ability to read and understand P&IDs

    AutoCad Plant 3D(or equivalent\) manipulation experience

    Laser Scan Software experience

     

    Physical

    • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds
    • Regularly required to talk or hear
    • Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
    • Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms
    • Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel
    • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
    • Will need to be able to perform sedentary work

     

    Mental

    • Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/ supervision
    • Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
    • Ability to use math/complete calculations
    • Must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details
    • Ability to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office devices
