GENERAL ACCOUNTANT Cajun Industries is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our dynamic team in the construction industry.  The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate record-keeping, assisting in financial transactions, and supporting the overall financial health of our construction projects.  The position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.  PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintain detailed and organized accounting records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards - Record and reconcile construction billings on a daily basis - Record cash receipts to outstanding invoices on a daily basis - Resolve billing and cash receipt issues and questions - Monitor and provide status updates to management on receivables that have been outstanding for unusually long periods of time - Support the Controllers with reporting and analysis of monthly results - Assists in reconciling accounts; communicate any problems or discrepancies to the Controllers for guidance toward resolution of the problem - Manage vendor credit application requests for Operations  - Perform special projects for the department, as needed - Prepare mailings and priority shipments for the Accounting Department - Prepare labels and maintain files as needed within the department - Maintain financial security and integrity by adhering to internal accounting controls and confidentiality - Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time –often on short notice - by the CFO and Controller SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Degree(s) must be from a credible college or university - Proven experience as an accountant in the construction industry - Knowledge of accounting principles and the application of accounting principles - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy - Excellent verbal and written skills and a willingness to work closely with Operations and others in the Accounting department - Basic mathematic skills and the ability to analyze data - Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently - Strong computer skills, with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a familiarity with accounting software  

Overview   The Rigger must have knowledge of complex rigging, heavy rigging, change crane boom and cable, electrical safety, ladder and scaffold safety, introduction to lifting machinery, wire rope basics, basic rigging, fire prevention, sizing of chokers, load charts, cutting torches, and basic knowledge of blueprint reading. It is highly recommended that all riggers obtain a certification form a nationally recognized organization such as, but not limited to NCCER. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Overview   The Operator for hydraulic, rough terrain crane should be certified and have the ability to operate at least one or all of the equipment listed: 15 ton hydraulic crane, 18 ton hydraulic crane, 35 ton hydraulic crane, 50 ton hydraulic crane, 65 ton hydraulic crane, and friction rig. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will need a working knowledge of DC electrical systems. Will be responsible for providing your own tools. Overview   The Corporate bilingual Trainer will conduct and supervise classroom based training, and potentially computer based training, to all levels of Cajun employees (field/craft employees through supervisors/managers). Will promote the values of Cajun’s culture, emphasizing safety and quality work to achieve productivity. The role of the Corporate Trainer will be to motivate employees through learning, evaluation, audits and feedback and must demonstrate a desire and motivation to promote safety and quality in all aspects of training. Must have a strong background in heavy industrial construction and safety, with preferably 10-15 years of work experience in related fields, and at least 5 years of experience in training/teaching supported by an educational background as evidenced through certifications and/or a degree (Bachelor degree strongly preferred, commensurate experience considered). This individual must also possess substantial knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements in related fields.
